CD REVIEW: S/T by Eagle Tears

S/T by Eagle Tears
(Independent Release)

Eagle Tears are a Canadian rock band that will appeal to fans of Stoner Rock and Classic Rock. They are raw and gritty. The band's self titled release is a collection of songs that really rock, that heave with sweaty bar band abandon and gin-soaked blues swagger, dripping with sleaze and mean excitement. It's fun, it's crankable, and it rocks like a mother. Eagle Tears is powered by Hal - vocals/guitar/harmonica, Steve - guitar/slide, J.B. - bass, George - guitar/vocals and Bob - drums/vocals. The band kick things off with the fuel injected rocker, "Sweet Little Thing" with Steve and George's guitars having a moment to display their collective guitar wares. The next three songs, "Slice Of Nice", "Beach Horse" and "Driftwood ", are good, old-fashioned rock n' roll boogies that wouldn't be out of place on 'Toys In The Attic' , loaded with greasy guitar riffs and smartass Stones-like attitude. But without a doubt the centerpiece of this album is the balls out rocker, "Lady Bison". This was the song that drew my attention to the band. It just rocks from beginning to end. "Hard And Heavy", keeps things on an even keel with a driving riff. "Money For A Woman" is guaranteed to get your rocks off and closing the album is the psychedelic infused mover,"Drug Rug". You're gonna bruise your ears listening to this album.  A very explosive, butt kickin', powder keg ready to go off  from start to finish If you like guitars, harmonica/harp that have that old-school rock groove then you are in for a good time!  - Highly Recommended
